The hosts
The people holding the room
Every session has one member who gets there early, claims the big table, and keeps the clock honest. Hosts are volunteers who started out as members. This page is theirs.
The job
What a host actually does
- 9:45
Opens the table
Arrives before everyone, sets up the room, greets people by name, and kicks off the round of goal declarations.
- 10:00
Runs the clock
Starts each 50-minute block, calls the breaks, and protects the quiet when the room is deep in it.
- 15:30
Keeps it human
Closes with show and tell, celebrates the finishes, and picks the spot for the hang after.
The roster
Hosts across three cities
All volunteers. All members first. Each one runs the room a little differently, which is the point.
Rodrigo
Toronto host
“Watching someone finish a thing they postponed for months never gets old.”
Maya
Toronto host
“My favorite sound is the room going quiet ninety seconds into a block.”
Camila
Medellin host
“I keep the timer strict so the lunch table can be completely unserious.”
Andres
Medellin host
“People arrive as strangers with laptops. They leave with witnesses.”
Lucia
Montevideo host
“The declarations are my favorite block. Saying it out loud changes it.”
Martin
Montevideo host
“I hosted my second session ever because nobody else raised a hand. Do it scared.”
Want to hold a room of your own?
Hosting takes one Saturday a month and a fondness for timers. We help with everything else.
