My Creative Break
At My Creative Break, we believe that everyone is creative. 'Creativity' skills allow us to create amazing things: art, dishes, connections, processes, workflows, applications, strategies and ways of life. However to hone these skills, we need to practice them - just like training our muscles at the gym. We practice these by pushing our limits and getting out of our comfort zones.
Questions you probably have
FAQ
Not at all. This event is designed specifically for people without any previous experience.
No. While there will definitely be laughter, the focus is on practical communication skills you can use in real life. You won't be put on the spot.
Some of the skills commonly practiced in improv include: * Thinking on your feet * Active listening * Confidence in conversations * Storytelling * Building rapport quickly * Handling unexpected questions * Presenting ideas more naturally
Many introverts love improv once they try it. The exercises are designed to be supportive, collaborative, and low-pressure. Nobody is expected to perform alone on stage.
Absolutely. Many attendees come on their own and leave having met several new people.
Most people are. The facilitators are experienced at creating a welcoming environment, and the activities start simple and build gradually. The goal is to have fun, not to be perfect.
The event is hosted at a pub, so food and drinks will be available for purchase.
